Arab Finance: Cairo International Airport received on Friday, January 20th, the first Chinese tourist group since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic three years ago, according to a joint statement by the Egyptian ministries of civil aviation and tourism.
In a welcoming ceremony, Yehia Zakaria, chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company, welcomed the arrival of the Chinese tourist group in their second country, Egypt, stressing the depth of the Egyptian-Chinese relations in various fields.
Zakaria revealed that the number of flights between Egypt and China would be increased, starting next March, to 13, including 7 trips to Guangzhou, 3 trips to Beijing, and 3 trips to Hangzhou.
In his address at the welcoming ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang thanked the Egyptian government and people for giving a warm welcome to the Chinese tourists and wished for an ever-lasting friendship between the two countries.
Liao expressed his aspiration that by the near future the number of Chinese tourists and flights to Egypt would return to the pre-epidemic level.
