Egypt’s National Cyber Security announces 7 winners of competition

 

ArabFinance: Today Egypt’s National Cyber Security-Capture the Flag- Competition announced 7 winners of the competition, who will become part of Egypt’s cyber security industry in raising awareness of cybercrime and cyber security, fighting cybercrime, and finding solutions to the top cyber security challenges in Egypt. The 7 winners of the competition will get the chance to represent Egypt in Capture the Flag competition in Japan in November 2017, which will be organized by Trend Micro.

The Winning Team received 100,000 EGP prize and will represent Egypt in Capture the Flag competition in Japan. The 1st Runner received 30,000 EGP and the 2nd Runner up received 20,000 EGP.

All 1000 candidates applied to the competition had access to highly developed challenges to practice their skills, through which they had a significant experience and gained sufficient knowledge to develop their talents.  150 candidates participated in the qualification phase and 65 candidates qualified to compete in the final CTF competition and got exposed to advanced real-world cyber security attacks and demonstrated their technical ability in finding solutions. 7 winners were able to prove their abilities and skills and excel in the competition.

“We were keen on providing a significant learning experience for all, those who applied but didn’t qualify, those who competed in the final competition and didn’t win and for security researchers and academics who can use data generated from the competition to help predict real-world security incidents, and prevent them by developing solutions.” Said Moataz Salah CEO of Cyber Talents “the competition revealed real potentials in Egypt who will take information security in Egypt to higher standards.” Added Moataz
