Abraaj Capital owns less than 5% of Cleopatra Hospital indirectly

ArabFinance: Cleopatra Hospital Company S.A.E (CLHO), Egypt's largest private hospital group by number of hospital beds and number of operating employing over 4,000 Egyptian employees, issued today the following statement in the context of recent media reports involving Abraaj Capital. 

Abraaj as a private equity fund manager manages private equity funds for limited partner investors including but not limited to the EBRD KFW/DEG, PROPARCO, the IFC and other Development Finance Institutions (DFI) in addition to other institutional investors.

Abraaj Capital does not any direct stake and indirectly owns less than 5 pct of Cleopatra through its investment as a limited partner in the private equity funds it manages. These private equity funds, together with certain DFI co-investors, own a C.69% shareholding in Cleopatra.
