ArabFinance: Lafarge Egypt, a member of Holcim Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the governorate of Kafr El Sheikh, with the aim to upgrade the internal roads network in the governorate, according to a press release.

Under the MoU, Lafarge Egypt finances paving internal roads extending over 5,000 square meters in Baltim, the release noted.

Lafarge Egypt will carry out various projects through Corporate Social Responsibility endeavors works “Hand in Hand”, in collaboration with Kafr El Sheikh governorate.

The projects include the optimization of the roads network, the release added, pointing out that Lafarge Egypt paved many internal roads in Baltim.

The company is keen to ensure citizens’ access to utilities as well as to connect the village with the main road.

This initiative aims at supporting Egypt Vision 2030 and the country’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Lafarge Egypt is a leading building materials company, and has operations in El-Ain El-Sokhna through its plant that is one of the largest cement production plants in the MENA region.
