ArabFinance: Misr Cement – Qena (MCQE) has taken part in the sixth edition of Builders of Egypt Forum held under the supervision of the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli to discuss the Egyptian experience and new vision for development plans in Arab and African countries, according to a press release.
The cement industry in Egypt is one of the main pillars of the Egyptian economy as total production capacity reached 78 million tonnes per annum through 22 factories operating across the country, Managing Director of Misr Cement – Qena Tareq Talaat said.
Egypt’s cement exports surged by 135% year-on-year during the first four months of 2021, recording $98 million, Talaat highlighted.
Misr Cement – Qena’s exports grew by 316% to 169,000 tonnes at the end of the first half (H1) of 2021, from 41,000 tonnes in the year-ago period, he noted.
The government policies have witnessed major changes over the past period, resulting in increased demand for cement and growth in sales, he said.
Misr Cement – Qena is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of cement and cement-related products in Egypt and abroad.
The company is involved in the production and distribution of construction materials, as well as dealing in all types of construction supplies and equipment.
