EGX ends Monday on mixed note

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) saw a mixed performance in Monday’s session.

The benchmark index EGX30 went down 0.66% and closed at 14,304.37 points, while the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 added 0.61% to close at 546.13 points and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.15% to close at 1,430 points.

Trading volume reached 334.59 million shares, with a total value of EGP 5.98 billion over 25,600 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 755.4 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 74 companies of the total listed stocks (172), while decliners were 57 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 41 companies.

Egyptian investors made 94.12% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 1.27% and foreign investors made 4.61%.

Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 312.86 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors were net buyers by EGP 24 million and EGP 288.7 million, respectively.

Individuals made 9.66% of trades, versus 90.33% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which increased 1.76% to close at EGP 0.69, with 123 million shares in volume.

Porto Group (PORT) came second, rising 1% to close at EGP 0.8, with 33.79 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Palm Hills Developments (PHDC) that leveled up 2.14% and closed at EGP 2.43, with 30.5 million shares in volume.

Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) came next and remained unchanged to close at EGP 2.66, with 25.25 million, followed by ELSaeed Contracting & Real Estate Investment Company (SCCD) (UEGC) that grew 3.28% to close at EGP 0.54, with 9 million shares in volume.
