Uber closes greenlight hubs in Egypt amid COVID-19 fears

ArabFinance: Uber announced a temporary closure of all its Greenlight Hubs in Egypt, which are service centers that aid drivers, according to a press release by Uber.

The move is in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The US-based company said the move is to encourage social distancing and protect its driver community and the Uber customer support experts.

As Uber remains in close contact with local public health authorities, the ride-hailing company stressed its plans to continue to follow its guidance so to prevent the virus from spreading through its community.

Locally, other than launching and publishing a number of precautionary measures, Uber has not announced yet any further news regarding its services in Egypt.

It is worth noting that days ago, Uber announced the temporary shutdown of its greenlight hubs across the US and Canada to help flatten the spread of COVID-19, according to AXIOS.
