CBE accepts over EGP 20B in bids for T-bill auction

ArabFinance: The Central Bank of Egypt approved 275 bids at a total value exceeding EGP 20.67 billion in a treasury bill (T-bill) auction on October 15th, according to the latest data.

For a 357-day T-bill offering of EGP 12 billion, the CBE received 295 bids worth EGP 28.42 billion.

The central bank accepted 208 bids at a value of EGP 18.51 billion, with a weighted average yield of 13.513%.

Another 182-day T-bill issue of EGP 9 billion registered 136 submitted bids at a value of EGP 12.17 billion.

The CBE approved 67 bids worth EGP 2.16 billion only, with a weighted average yield of 13.372%.

Last week, the financial institution announced offering EGP 21 billion in T-bills over two batches.

An additional EGP 19 billion worth of T-bills were also issued in an October 18th auction.
