ArabFinance: The Egyptian health ministry reported 970 new coronavirus cases on January 12th, raising the total to 150,753.

The country detected 55 new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 8,304, the ministry added.

Some 423 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 119,635.

The Tahya Misr Fund is calling for donations to help fund Egypt’s vaccination program, according to a Cabinet statement.

Business people doled out some EGP 160 million to the cause thus far, the fund's Misr spokesperson Mohamed Mokhtar told Yahduth Fi Misr's Sherif Amer on January 12th.
