QIA’s investment arm seeks investments in Egypt’s container terminals

QIA’s investment arm seeks investments in Egypt’s container terminals

ArabFinance: Egypt’s Ministry of Transportation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Maha Capital, the investment arm of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), for outlining mutual cooperation and initiating feasibility studies for investments in container terminals, according to an official statement on September 18th.

The protocol will also allow for cooperation in developing and upgrading the West Port Said Container Terminal.

The MoU was signed during a meeting between the Chief of Asia-Pacific and Africa Investments at QIA Faisal Bin Thani Al-Thani and the Minister of Transport Kamil El-Wazir.

The meeting included the development of the economic and trade relations between Egypt and Qatar in container terminals and specialized plants.

On September 14th, the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) and QIA signed three MoUs during an official visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Doha.
