Maersk to build $15B clean ship fuel project in Egypt

ArabFinance: Danish integrated logistics company Maersk is planning to launch a $15 billion project in Egypt to produce clean fuel for ships, according to an official statement on September 19th.

The project is expected to create more than 100,000 job opportunities in different specialties.

The project was announced during a meeting between Maersk’s Chairman Soren Skou and the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The meeting explored ways of promoting cooperation between the Suez Canal Authority and Maersk, especially in the areas of training, marine transport, logistics, and container terminals, Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi revealed.

He noted that El-Sisi gave his directives for initiating cooperation with Maersk to construct a national integrated network in Egypt to produce and distribute green energy and clean ship fuel.
