Egypt mulls aspects of cooperation with Oman’s MSX

Arab Finance: Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said has met with a delegation from the Muscat Securities Market (MSX) to discuss aspects of mutual cooperation, according to a statement by the planning ministry on November 24th.

The Omani delegation was headed by the Chairman of MSX Mahfouz Al-Ardhi and the stock market’s CEO Haitham Al Salmi.

The meeting was attended by CEO of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Rami El-Dokany, Executive Director of the Sovereign fund of Egypt (TSFE), and assistant to the planning minister for asset management and investment Naglaa El-Bayly, as well as the minister’s legal advisor and the director of international relations at the ministry.

El-Said presented Egypt’s efforts to launch TSFE and its sub-funds in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and fintech, in addition to work progress related to the establishment of the pre-IPO fund.

For his part, Rami El-Dokany asserted that this meeting comes within the framework of the ongoing fruitful cooperation between both countries as per the bilateral cooperation memorandum signed with the MSX to exchange expertise, explore mechanisms of dual-listing, and facilitating procedures for investment and financial institutional works between MSX and EGX.

Meanwhile, Mahfouz Al-Ardhi said that the MSX is committed to extending cooperation with the EGX and the Egyptian investment institutions to benefit from the available opportunities.
