Arab Finance: The second round of the €117 million Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program, co-financed by the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation and the European Union (EU), have been concluded, according to an official statement published on December 4th.
The program targets bolstering investments in human capital and preparing vocational education graduates for the labor market, in line with Egypt’s strategy to achieve sustainable development.
During the closing ceremony of TVET II, international cooperation minister Rania Al-Mashat asserted the importance of the program for being consistent with the state’s priorities to develop the education system and provide vocational training.
The ongoing portfolio of the EU in Egypt amounts to around €1.3 billion, in addition to concessional financing of about $5.5 billion for the implementation of 149 projects, the minister noted.
These projects are being carried out in the sectors of scientific research, education, entrepreneurship, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), agriculture, food security, and social protection, she added.
Ministry of International Cooperation is committed to increasing the participation of the private sector in mega projects being executed under Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Climate Change Strategy (NCCS) 2050, Al-Mashat said.
