Arab Finance: Trade Exchange between Egypt and Jordan increased by 2.7% year-on-year (YoY) to $646.1 million in the first eight months of 2022, versus $629.1 million, according to a press release published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on December 5th.
The value of Egyptian exports to Jordan stood at $481.6 million in the eight-month period ended August 31st, narrowing down by 3.3% YoY from $498.1 million.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s imports from Jordan increased by 25.5% to $164.5 million in the first eight months of 2022, compared to $131 million in the same period last year.
Remittances from Egyptian expats in Jordan amounted to $774.2 million in fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, rising by 14.1% from $678.5 million in FY 2019/2020.
Likewise, remittances of Jordanians living in Egypt rose by 11.3% to $12.3 million in FY 2020/2021, compared to $11.1 million in the FY before.
