EGX ends Thursday on mixed note

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) saw a mixed performance in Thursday’s session.

The benchmark index EGX30 inched down 0.27% and closed at 14,880 points, while the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 went up 0.12% to close at 649 points and the broader index EGX100 edged up 0.04% to close at 1,658 points.

Trading volume reached 53.9 million shares, with a total value of EGP 438.7 billion over 10,988 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 807 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 69 companies of the total listed stocks (162), while decliners were 53 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 40 companies.

Egyptian investors made 65.8% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 6.22% and foreign investors made 27.98%.

Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 5.5 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers by EGP 4.9 million and EGP 632,616, respectively.

Individuals made 34.16% of trades, versus 65.8% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which added 0.35% to close at EGP 0.57, with 10.7 million shares in volume.

Palm Hills Developments S.A.E. (PHDC) came second, falling 1.2% to close at EGP 2.4, with 7.68 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Global Telecom Holding S.A.E. (GTHE) that increased 1.79% and closed at EGP 4.57, with 3.5 million shares in volume.

Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) came next and went down 0.83% to close at EGP 3.6, with2.6 million, followed by Arabia Investment, Development and Financial Investment Holding Company (AIND) that grew 0.47% to close at EGP 0.65, with 1.5 million shares in volume.
