    EGX starts week with green note

    ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session recording gains.

    The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.44% to close at 14,122 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 increased 0.22% to close at 622 points; and the broader index EGX100 edged up 0.27% to close at 1,584.05 points.

    Trading volume reached 69.47 million shares, with a total value of EGP 555 million over 10,501 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 768.85 billion.

    Today, the gainers reached 84 companies of the total listed stocks (156), while decliners were 25 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 47 companies.

    Egyptian investors made 63.58% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 4.95% and foreign investors made 31.47%.

    Foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 1.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 4.88 million and EGP 6.6 million, respectively.

    Individuals made 33.30% of trades, versus 66.69% by Institutions.

    Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which grew 1.36% to close at EGP 0.5, with 17.58 million shares in volume.

    Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) came second, gaining 4.98% to close at EGP 3.4, with 10.658 million shares in volume.

    This was followed by Global Telecom Holding S.A.E. (GTHE) that increased 2.3% and closed at EGP 4.4, with 6.4 million shares in volume.

    Moreover, Palm Hills Developments S.A.E. (PHDC) added 2% and closed at EGP 2.4, with 4 million shares in volume, while Egyptian Iron and Steel Company (IRON) rose 5.5% to close at EGP 3.6 and 2.23 million shares in volume.
