EGX extends losses on Thursday

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s session in red.

The benchmark index EGX30 decreased 1.08% and closed at 13,659.7 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 fell 1.06% to close at 608.98 points and the broader index EGX100 lost 1.11% to close at 1,546 points.

Trading volume reached 82 million shares, with a total value of EGP 589 million over 13,489 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 748.9 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 28 companies of the total listed stocks (170), while decliners were 101 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 41 companies.

Egyptian investors made 58.18% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 6.7% and foreign investors made 35.12%.

Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 37 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 19.7 million and EGP 17 million, respectively.

Individuals made 42.35% of trades, versus 57.6% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which inched down 0.19% to close at EGP 0.52, with 17 million shares in volume.

Global Telecom Holding (GTHE) came second that increased 1.34% and closed at EGP 4.58, with 12 million shares in volume.

Palm Hills Developments (PHDC) added 0.42% to close at EGP 2.38, with 4 million, followed by Egyptian Resorts Company (EGTS) that declined 1.5% to EGP 1.77, with 3 million shares in volume.

Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) grew 2% to close at EGP 3.38, with 3 million shares in volume.
