EGX ends Sunday in red

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s session in red.

The benchmark index EGX30 decreased 1.02% and closed at 13,520.8 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 declined 1.25% to close at 601.34 points and the broader index EGX100 went down 1.25% to close at 1,527 points.

Trading volume reached 68 million shares, with a total value of EGP 528 million over 11,893 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 741 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 29 companies of the total listed stocks (168), while decliners were 94 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 45 companies.

Egyptian investors made 81.25% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 5.17% and foreign investors made 13.59%.

Egyptian investors were net buyers by EGP 12.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 5 million and EGP 7.4 million, respectively.

Individuals made 49.76% of trades, versus 50.23% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Qalaa Holdings (CCAP), which inched down 0.3% to close at EGP 3.3, with 10 million shares in volume.

Orascom Investment Holding (OIH) came second, shedding 0.58% to close at EGP 0.5, with 8.99 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Egyptian Resorts Company (EGTS) that increased 1.03% and closed at EGP 1.79, with 5.97 million shares in volume.

Sinai Cement (SCEM) came next and grew 4.56% to close at EGP 8.25, with 5 million, followed by Global Telecom Holding’s S.A.E. (GTHE) that remained unchanged to close at EGP 4.5, with 4.88 million shares in volume.
