EGX ends Monday in green

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) achieved gains on Monday.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 1.71 % to close at 14,148.88 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 edged up 0.59% to close at 604.75 points; and the broader index EGX100 went up 0.78% to close at 1,544.5 points.

Trading volume reached 158 million shares, with a total value of EGP 1.35 billion over 23,874 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 761 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 111 companies of the total listed stocks (166), while decliners were 17 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 38 companies.

Egyptian investors made 59.56% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 3.28% and foreign investors made 37.16%.

Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 447.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 435 million and EGP 12.37 million, respectively.

Individuals made 30.75% of trades, versus 69.24% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Qalaa Holdings (CCAP), which increased 3.4% to close at EGP 3.7, with 25.997 million shares in volume.

Orascom Investment Holding (OIH) came second, adding 1.9% to close at EGP 0.588, with 23.5 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Global Telecom Holding’s S.A.E. (GTHE) that grew 1.7% and closed at EGP 4.75, with 15.47 million shares in volume.

Palm Hills Developments S.A.E. (PHDC) also went up 1.6% and closed at EGP 2.5, with 9.26 million shares in volume, followed by Eastern Tobacco (EAST) which rose 2.37% to close at EGP 16.4 and 5.5 million shares in volume.
