EGX extends gains for 2nd session in a row

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in green.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.4% to close at 14,206.18 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 edged up 0.16% to close at 605.71 points; and the broader index EGX100 went up 0.15% to close at 1,546.9 points.

Trading volume reached 176.988 million shares, with a total value of EGP 1.06 billion over 21,288 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 762 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 58 companies of the total listed stocks (164), while decliners were 68 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 38 companies.

Egyptian investors made 59.18% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 7.38% and foreign investors made 33.44%.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 268.7 million and EGP 48.9 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 317.65 million.

Individuals made 39.96% of trades, versus 60.03% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Palm Hills Developments S.A.E. (PHDC) which went up 1.6% and closed at EGP 2.49, with 25.795 million shares in volume

Orascom Investment Holding (OIH) came second, losing 1.19% to close at EGP 0.575, with 25.4 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Qalaa Holdings (CCAP), which increased 1.37% to close at EGP 3.66, with 15 million shares in volume.

Electro Cable Egypt's (ELEC) also hiked 6.8% and closed at EGP 1.7, with 9.585 million shares in volume, followed by Global Telecom Holding (GTHE) which decreased 1.26% to close at EGP 4.7 and 8.3 million shares in volume.
