EGX ends Wednesday on mixed note

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) saw a mixed performance in Wednesday’s session.

The benchmark index EGX30 edged down 0.34% and closed at 14,158 points, while the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 went up 0.12 to close at 606.42 points and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.05% to close at 1,547.75 points.

Trading volume reached 140.7 million shares, with a total value of EGP 1.46 billion over 15,718 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 759.89 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 48 companies of the total listed stocks (162), while decliners were 75 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 39 companies.

Egyptian investors made 53.78% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 3.48% and foreign investors made 42.73%.

Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 373.668 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 370 million and EGP 3.5 million, respectively.

Individuals made 25.43% of trades, versus 74.56% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which added 0.86% to close at EGP 0.589, with 26 million shares in volume.

Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) came second, rising 0.54% to close at EGP 3.76, with 13 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Palm Hills Developments S.A.E. (PHDC) that decreased 1.19% and closed at EGP 2.48, with 8.9 million shares in volume.

Obour Land (OLFI) came next and lost 2% to close at EGP 7.2, with 7 million, followed by Global Telecom Holding S.A.E. (GTHE) that grew 0.43% to close at EGP 4.7, with 5.57 million shares in volume.
