EGX ends Monday in green

ArabFinance: Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) achieved gains on Monday.

The benchmark index EGX30 increased 1.2% to close at 15,110.23 points; the small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 went up 0.43% to close at 557.1 points; and the broader index EGX100 added 1.12% to close at 1,477.93 points.

Trading volume reached 199.4 million shares, with a total value of EGP 7.8 billion over 28,467 trades. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 779 billion.

Today, the gainers reached 56 companies of the total listed stocks (166), while decliners were 79 companies, and unchanged were amounting to 31 companies.

Egyptian investors made 88.59% of today's action, while Arab investors recorded 0.78% and foreign investors made 10.63%.

Egyptian investors were net buyers by EGP 573 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 564 million and EGP 9 million, respectively.

Individuals made 8.23% of trades, versus 91.76% by Institutions.

Moreover, the volume leaders were led by Orascom Investment Holding (OIH), which went down 0.28% to close at EGP 0.7, with 39.57 million shares in volume.

Qalaa Holdings (CCAP) came second, decreasing 0.37% to close at EGP 2.69, with 18 million shares in volume.

This was followed by Porto Group (PORT) that lost 0.13% and closed at EGP 0.75, with 12.65 million shares in volume.

Ezz Steel (ESRS) dropped 8.14% and closed at EGP 10.19, with 9 million shares in volume, followed by Elsewedy Electric S.A.E (SWDY) which hiked 4.78% to close at EGP 14.85 and 8 million shares in volume.
