EGX indices fall for 2nd session

ArabFinance: The Egyptian Stock Exchange’s (EGX) indices maintained its bearish performance for the second session on October 18th.

The benchmark index EGX 30 fell 1.21% to close at 11,185.15 points. 

The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX 70 went down by 1.62% to close at 1,951.62 points, while the broader index EGX 100 closed at 2,869.45 points, marking a decline of 1.62%.

Trading volume reached 257.620 million shares executed through 31,612 transactions, with a total value of EGP 838.666 million. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 624.244 billion. 

Egyptian investors made up 78.61% of total transactions, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 19.7% and 1.69%, respectively.

Individuals represented 24.08% of total trades, while institutions contributed to 75.91%.

The top five performers by trading volume were Arab Company for Asset Management and Development (ACAMD)Orascom Investment Holding (OIH)Arabia Investments Holding (AIH)Arab Cotton Ginning Company (ACGC), and Arab Engineering Industries (EEII).   

However, the worst top performers by price were Sharm Dreams Company for Tourism Investment (SDTI), Nasr Company for Civil Works (NCCW)Golden Coast Company (GOCO)Egyptian Media Production City (MPRC), and Rowad Tourism (ROTO)
