EGX indices see downtrend

ArabFinance: The Egyptian Stock Exchange’s (EGX) indices witnessed a negative performance on October 20th.

The benchmark index EGX 30 fell 0.12% to close at 11,157.62 points. 

The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX 70 went down by 0.60% to close at 1,942.44 points, while the broader index EGX 100 closed at 2,854.18 points, marking a decline of 0.61%.

Trading volume reached 256.207 million shares executed through 33,312 transactions, with a total value of EGP 927.971 million. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 621.829 billion. 

Egyptian investors made up 77.4% of total transactions, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 19.04% and 3.56%, respectively.

Individuals represented 25.88% of total trades, while institutions contributed to 74.11%.

The top five performers by trading volume were Orascom Investment Holding (OIH)Arabia Investments Holding (AIH)Arab Cotton Ginning Company (ACGC), Arab Real Estate Investment Company (RREI), and Arab Company for Asset Management and Development (ACAMD).   

However, the worst top performers by price were Orascom Investment Holding (OIH)Medical Packaging Company (MEPA)Arab Company for Asset Management and Development (ACAMD)Madinet Nasr Housing and Development (MNHD), and Egyptian Iron and Steel Company (EISC).
