EGX ends Wednesday on mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched down 0.03%, finishing the session at 9,965.46 points.  

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 0.76% to 2,013.37 points.  

Meanwhile, the EGX100 index went up by 0.50% to 2,932.22 points, while the EGX50 EWI index edged up 0.18% to 1,816.93 points.  

Trading volume amounted to nearly 1.56 billion shares exchanged through 47,022 transactions at a turnover of EGP 20.92 billion.  

Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 666.540 billion.  

Retail investors controlled 3.63% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 96.36% of trading.  

Egyptian traders made up 51.51% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign (non-Arab) investors made up 47.97% and 0.51% respectively.  

Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 19.94 billion, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 19.83 billion and EGP 110.63 million, respectively.
