ArabFinance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices saw positive trading on Thursday.
The benchmark EGX30 index added 1.8%, finishing the session at 10,287.27 points, while the EGX50 EWI index rose 2.05%, to stand at 1,932.22 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) grew 2.17%, reaching 2,210.32 points, while the EGX100 gained 2.24%, ending the session at 3,171.8 points.
Trading volume amounted nearly to 660.048 million shares exchanged through 58,975 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.554 billion.
Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 692.764 billion.
Retail investors controlled 65.81% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 34.18% of trading.
Egyptian traders made up 79.92% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 7.01% and 13.06%, respectively.
Foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 209.002 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 173.861 million and EGP 35.141 million, respectively.
