EGX ends Sunday on mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index dropped 1.06%, finishing the session at 10,178.15 points.  

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 0.62% to 2,224.01 points.  

Meanwhile, the EGX100 index edged up by 0.36% to 3,183.17 points, while the EGX50 EWI remained stable at 1,932.17 points.  

Trading volume amounted to nearly 763.17 million shares exchanged through 53,967 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.193 billion.  

Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 689.77 billion.  

Retail investors controlled 88.26% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 11.73% of trading.  

Egyptian traders made up 92.17% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign (non-Arab) investors made up 6.1% and 1.73% respectively.  

Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 39.695 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 15.61 million and EGP 24.082 million, respectively.
