ArabFinance: Most of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices ended Wednesday higher, except for the small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI), which slipped 0.17%, finishing the session at 2,809.17 points.
The benchmark EGX30 index added 0.42%, finishing the session at 15,528.1 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX100 index gained 0.34% to 4,227.86 points, while the EGX50 EWI index rose 1.28% to 2,735.22 points.
Trading volume amounted nearly to 897.094 million shares exchanged through 94,144 transactions at a turnover of EGP 4.374 billion.
Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 1.014 trillion.
Retail investors controlled 58.79% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 41.2% of trading.
Egyptian traders made up 79.86% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors made up 9.5% and 10.64% respectively.
Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 108.331 million, while non-Arab foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 22.072 million and EGP 86.259 million.
