Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had seen a green performance on Monday, with the EGX30 index closing on a positive note.
The benchmark EGX30 index gained 1.78%, finishing the session at 15,837.91 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 2.03% to 2,897.78 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX100 index jumped by 1.91% to 4,356.33 points, while the EGX50 EWI index rose by 1.49% to 2,828 points.
Trading volume amounted nearly to 606.185 million shares exchanged through 80,496 transactions at a turnover of EGP 2.78 billion.
Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 1.043 trillion.
Retail investors controlled 70.55% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 29.44% of trading.
Egyptian traders made up 82.69% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign (non-Arab) investors made up 8.51% and 8.8% respectively.
Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 256.788 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 46.880 million and EGP 209.907 million, respectively.
