Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had seen a green performance on Tuesday, with the EGX30 index closing on a positive note.
The benchmark EGX30 index gained 0.91%, finishing the session at 15,981.88 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 2.23% to 2,962.39 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX100 index jumped by 1.73% to 4,431.88 points, while the EGX50 EWI index rose by 0.73% to 2,848.57 points.
Trading volume amounted nearly to 696.657 million shares exchanged through 83,779 transactions at a turnover of EGP 3.138 billion.
Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 1.052 trillion.
Retail investors controlled 70.42% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 29.57% of trading.
Egyptian traders made up 77.5% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign (non-Arab) investors made up 7.92% and 14.58% respectively.
Egyptian and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 44.0 million and EGP 30.440 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 74.443 million.
