Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) shipping arm is purchasing two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers from China, Bloomberg reported on April 12th.
The tankers are set to be delivered in 2025, which will contribute to increasing Abu Dhabi’s fleet of LNG tankers.
The constractution of the tankers will take place in Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai.
The two tanks are expected to be larger than ADNOC’s current LNG vessels.
ADNOC seeks to increase oil output capacity by a quarter to 5 million barrels per day (pd) as well as to become self-sufficient in gas production by the end of the decade.
