ArabFinance: Italian energy giant announced a new gas discovery in its offshore concessions in Cyprus with preliminary estimated reserves of 2.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF) at the depth of 2,287 meters, according to a press release on August 22nd.
The discovery is located in the Cronos-1 well drilled in Block 6 which is 160 kilometers away from Cyprus coastline
Eni Cyprus operates Block 6 and holds 50% interest in partnership with TotalEnergies.
“The gas discovery of Cronos-1 can unlock additional potential in the area and is part of Eni’s successful effort to provide further gas supply to Europe,” the company said.
