ArabFinance: Russian gas producer Gazprom announced that gas supplies to Germany have been halted due to a gas leak, Deutsche Welle reported on September 2nd.
The leak affected gas supplies to Europe through Nord Stream 1 pipeline, noted Gazprom, which did not set a certain date for the recommissioning of the pipeline.
Gazprom maintained that supplies will not be resumed until repairs were fully conducted.
Commenting on the incident, German energy giant Siemens noted that the said leaks are not as impactful as described by Gazprom and that its maintenance is a routine procedure.
On August 26th, BBC reported that Russia is burning around 4.34 million cubic meters of gas every day of the gas supposed to be supplied to Germany.
