Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the red zone, as the EGX30 index retreated by 0.25% to 55,276.78 points.
The Shariah index fell by 0.45% to 6,606.93 points, while the EGX35-LV dropped by 0.18% to 6,869.81 points.
Likewise, both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index closed the session lower by 0.48% at 21,667.02 points and by 0.54% at 27,953.58 points, respectively.
The EGX’s turnover hit EGP 14.380 billion through the exchange of 4.057 billion over 303,720 transactions. Meanwhile, the market cap totaled EGP 4.291 trillion.
Retail investors dominated 82.24% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 17.75%.
Egyptians took over 91.83% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 5.45% and 2.73%, respectively.
Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 144.685 million and EGP 90.230 million, respectively. The Egyptians were buyers with EGP 234.916 million.
