EGX closes Tuesday on varied note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s session with a varied performance, as the EGX30 index rose by 0.29% to 45,321.59 points.

The EGX33 Shariah index shed by 0.12% to 4,775.08 points. Meanwhile, the EGX35-LV went up by 1.12% to 5,240.75 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index ended the session higher by 0.28% at 12,535.17 points and by 0.31% at 17,426.83 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover hit EGP 7.275 billion through the exchange of 1.718 billion shares over 137,012 transactions. The market cap reached EGP 3.234 trillion.

Arab and foreign investors accounted for 4.41% and 9.18%, respectively, whereas Egyptians took over 86.41%.

Individuals dominated trading with a 70.49% share, whereas institutions represented 29.5%.

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 109.788 million and EGP 315.500 million, respectively. Egyptian traders were buyers with EGP 425.288 million.
