EGX ends Wednesday session on mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session with a varied performance.

The EGX30 index edged up by 0.38% to 55,039.76 points, while the Shariah index inched up by 0.0221% to 6,475.04 points.

Likewise, the EGX35-LV went down by 0.12% to 6,824.36 points.

The EGX70 index finished the session lower by 1.31% to 21,630.6 points. Also, the EGX100 index dropped by 0.91% to 27,915.05 points.

A total of 3.771 billion shares were exchanged at a turnover of EGP 16.392 billion through 363,703 transactions. Meanwhile, market cap hit EGP 4.209 trillion.

Individuals controlled 83.13% of trading transactions, while institutions represented 16.86%.

Egyptians controlled 93.21% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 3.58% and 3.22%, respectively.

Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 55.937 million. Foreign and Arab traders were sellers with EGP 45.318 million and EGP 10.619 million, respectively.
