EGX ends Sunday on a mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Sunday, with the EGX30 index shedding 0.31% to 54,937.34 points.

The Shariah index edged down by 0.41% to 6,555.09 points, while the EGX35-LV went up by 0.95% to 6,792.6 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session higher by 0.30% at 21,332.45 points and by 0.37% at 27,681.48 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 12.205 billion through the exchange of 4.254 billion shares over 280,166 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.292 trillion.

Individuals controlled 82.14% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 17.85%.

Egyptians represented 95.55% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 1.37% and 3.08%, respectively.

Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 240.773 billion. Egyptian and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 197.330 million and EGP 43.443 million, respectively.
