Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance on Wednesday, with the EGX30 index shedding 0.31% to 55,106.54 points.
The Shariah index edged up by 0.26% to 6,581.78 points, while the EGX35-LV went up by 0.03% to 6,728.87 points.
Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session higher by 0.79% at 21,269.03 points and by 0.69% at 27,578.41 points, respectively.
The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 11.406 billion through the exchange of 3.802 billion shares over 252,457 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.282 trillion.
Individuals controlled 76.09% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 23.9%.
Egyptians represented 87.85% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 3.34% and 8.81%, respectively.
Egyptian traders were buyers with EGP 316.693 billion. Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 232.005 million and EGP 84.687 million, respectively.
