Arab Finance: The National Egyptian Railway Industries Company (NERIC) and the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) signed a €275.02 million agreement to localize and supply 21 trains, equivalent to 189 train cars, for the Alexandria Metro project, according to a statement.

Under the 38-month contract, NERIC will provide spare parts and equipment supplies. The deal also covers 10 years of maintenance, including one major overhaul.

Witnessing the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly stated that this project comes under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to create sustainable and environmentally friendly public transportation to facilitate citizens' movement.

The agreement also falls within the Ministry of Transport's plan to implement several green public transportation projects in Alexandria, the second most populous governorate.
