Arab Finance: QatarEnergy has expanded its presence in Egypt’s energy sector through a new partnership with Italy’s Eni in the North Rafah offshore concession in the Mediterranean Sea, Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources stated.
Aimed at exploring natural gas, the move aligns with the ministry’s strategy to boost production and attract foreign investment in oil and gas exploration.
The new partnership brings QatarEnergy’s total number of offshore exploration concessions in Egypt to six, where it collaborates with leading international companies, including Eni, Chevron, and ExxonMobil.
This demonstrates continued confidence in Egypt’s investment climate.
Over the next five years, QatarEnergy and its partners plan to drill several new exploratory wells for natural gas, including three wells scheduled for next year.
The plan comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop Egypt’s natural gas resources and enhance production capacity.
