Arab Finance: Orascom Construction has awarded full scholarships to three Egyptian students under the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program, according to an emailed press release.

This move reflects the company’s belief in the importance of education and its vital role in developing Egypt.

In this regard, the three students will pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Pennsylvania.

This year marks the 25th consecutive cycle of the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program, which has awarded 102 scholarships to Egyptian students since its launch in 2000.

Last September, OCI Global and Orascom Construction discussed a potential merger that would create an infrastructure and investment platform headquartered in Abu Dhabi with international operations.
