Arab Finance: Israel has agreed to import more natural gas to Egypt via Tamar gas field in the Mediterranean, which will boost the former’s revenues and strengthen its ties with Egypt, Asharq Business reported, citing the Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz.
As per the announcement, 3.5 billion cubic meter of natural gas will be exported to Egypt annually for 11 years, representing a total of 38.7 billion cubic meters.
The Israeli natural gas exports to Egypt could reach a total of 44 billion cubic meter, depending on the future production, the statement read.
The new exports are subject to growth of production from the Tamar field by 6 billion cubic meters per year, or by an annual increase 60% compared the current produced amount, as of 2026, it added.
