Arab Finance: The US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged for the third time this year at a range between 4.25% and 4.5%, as per a statement issued by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
Recent indicators suggest that economic activity has continued to expand steadily despite fluctuations in net exports.
Meanwhile, inflation remains somewhat high. However, the unemployment rate stabilized at a low level in recent months, and labor market conditions remain solid.
The committee will continue reducing its holdings of treasury securities, agency debt, and agency mortgage-backed securities in line with its commitment to supporting maximum employment and returning inflation to its 2% objective.
