Arab Finance: Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Greece integrated business development organisationCopelouzos Group, Dimitris Copelouzos, where they discussed opportunities to boost bilateral cooperation in the renewable energy field, Egyptian president stated on February 11th.
The officials discussed ways of implementing electricity production projects from renewable energy sources in Egypt, and transferring it to Europe via Greece through the electrical connection between the two countries.
“There was agreement to continue the ongoing studies to crystallize cooperation with Copelouzos Group to establish projects for the production and transfer of clean energy from Egypt to Europe through Greece to consolidate Egypt's position as a regional hub for the trading of all types of energy,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian presidency said that El-Sisi had a phone call with Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to another statement on February 10th.
El-Sisi and Mitsotakis probed methods of enhancing joint cooperations in the areas of investment, trade, energy and electricity interconnection.
