Arab Finance: The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has concluded the procurement of 250,000 tons of raw sugar on May 25th, according to a statement from the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.
The shipment is set to arrive in September and October.
This brings the total quantity of raw sugar purchased to bolster the country's sugar reserves to 750,000 tons during the period from May until October 2024.
Additionally, beet sugar companies will continue producing sugar from beets and offer it in the markets.
This comes in line with the directives of Egypt’s President and the Prime Minister to boost the state’s strategic stock of sugar.
