Egypt raises price of metro tickets covering 25+ stations by EGP 2

Arab Finance: Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir announced an EGP 2 increase in the price of the metro ticket covering more than 25 stations to EGP 12 from EGP 10, according to a statement by the ministry on February 21st.

El Wazir said that the decision coincides with the inauguration of new stages in the metro's third line in the near future.

The minister also confirmed that any increase in ticket prices is ratified by the Egyptian cabinet.

The metro tickets are priced as follows: EGP 5 for 9 stations, EGP 7 for 16 stations, and EGP 12 for 25+ stations.
