Egypt launches 1st national youth, sports strategy 2025-2032

Arab Finance: Egypt has launched its first national youth and sports strategy 2025-2032, under the auspices of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, as per a statement.

In partnership with United Nations organizations in Egypt, the cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the launch coincided with International Youth Day.

This was attended by senior officials, former ministers, ambassadors, university presidents, civil society representatives, and leaders from youth and sports federations and clubs.

In a recorded speech, Madbouly described the strategy as the first of its kind in Egypt and a core component of the state’s comprehensive approach to sustainable human development.

He stressed that the government is determined to turn the strategy into reality through close monitoring, inter-agency coordination, and investment in young people’s capabilities, calling them Egypt’s true wealth.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said work on the strategy began in 2019 and continued through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and global changes.

Developed in line with Egypt Vision 2030, the plan aims to serve more than 61% of the population through four main axes: nurturing and developing the youth sector; promoting sports and physical activities as part of daily life; advancing sports competition and leadership; and improving governance in youth and sports to boost their economic and development contributions.

Sobhi said the primary objective is to invest in the energies and potential of Egyptian youth, strengthening national belonging, improving quality of life, and creating more opportunities for excellence and participation locally and internationally.
