Arab Finance: Trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE was valued at $5.4 billion during the January-July 2025 period, significantly up by 71% from the same period of 2024, data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.
Egyptian exports to the UAE surged by 141.2% year-on-year (YoY) to $4.1 billion during the seven-month period, from $1.7 billion.
Meanwhile, the value of Egyptian imports from the UAE was $1.3 billion, 13.3% lower than $1.5 billion in the year-ago period.
Emirati investments in Egypt were worth $2.2 billion during the first half (H1) of fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, versus $2.1 billion in H1 FY2023/2024, marking an increase of 4.8%.
On the other hand, Egyptian investments in the UAE hit $750.1 million in H1 FY2024/2025, rising by 21.7% YoY from $616.2 million.
Moreover, remittances of Egyptians working in the UAE amounted to $1.8 billion in FY 2023/2024, versus $2.1 billion in FY 2022/2023.
On the other hand, remittances of Emiratis in Egypt stood at $31.6 million in FY 2023/2024, down from $35.5 million in FY 2022/2023.
