Cabinet endorses draft law on hosting AfSA’s headquarters in Egypt

Arab Finance: The Cabinet has endorsed a presidential draft law on the agreement inked back on January 24th regarding hosting the African Space Agency’s (AfSA) headquarters in Egypt, according to a statement on May 10th.

The agreement aims to boost and implement the African policy and strategy in the field of space, the statement read.

Moreover, it seeks to shore up the employment of space technologies and applications to increase the pace of economic and sustainable development processes and improve the African citizen’s welfare.

The agreement will boost Egypt’s access to the African space science field, in addition to enhancing the space industry in the country, with the aim of pushing forward the national economy, the statement added.

The Cabinet noted that AfSA’s satellite data will contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
