Energy China to establish $7B green hydrogen project in Ain Sokhna

Arab Finance: China Energy Engineering Corporation (Energy China) is planning to invest nearly $7 billion to establish a project for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia at the industrial park of Ain Sokhna, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) stated on May 24^th.

The project is set to produce 1.2 million tons of green ammonia and 210,000 tons of green hydrogen per year.

During his meeting with the Chinese company’s representatives in Beijing, SCZONE’s CEO Waleid Gamal El-Dein announced that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Energy China with respect to the green hydrogen project will be activated soon as a framework agreement.
